Story Behind the Fund

The "Have No Fear" name was born from conversations between Pastor Jared Richey and Steve Holden, a devoted longtime member and champion of Ridgeland Church's renewed mission. Pastor Jared remembers a few conversations when Steve faced challenging decisions or wrestled with what God was calling him to do, he would say something like:

"I've got to be honest—I'm afraid. But I don't want fear to stop me. So I'm going to do it anyway."

This captures the heart we want to cultivate: honest about our fears, but unwilling to let them define our response to God's calling. It's about acknowledging the challenge while trusting the Holy Spirit's movement in our lives, even against all odds.

Steve's testimony lives on in this fund—not just through his words, but through the generosity of his family. The initial seed money for the Have No Fear Empowerment Fund was provided by Steve Holden's estate, ensuring that his heart for faithful obedience continues empowering others long after his time on earth.

The Have No Fear Empowerment Fund helps builds a culture of missional empowerment by helping people discover and develop their unique calling, passion, and gifts—then providing launch grants to turn that passion into mission.
